While I've always said common sense and politeness are the best marketing tools you can have, a few good resources never go amiss! And we live in a world of amazingly innovative on-line tools. Here are some of my favorites with notes on usage.

SCHEDULING + TRACKING

Empatic It's like having a SM assistant
DOSocial The "easiest" SM management tool. Free option available.
HootSuite Free and a great option for RSS/pre-scheduling SM *disclosure - I use this personally + it is my first recommendation to clients.*
Insightly Free CRM option that integrates with Gmail - very easy to use
Meet Edgar Great scheduling tool that auto creates a content library  *disclosure - I use this professionally*
Nimble Social CRM  - best for Twitter/FB/Google+ users as LinkedIn portion is weak
SproutSocial SM management and engagement tool *disclosure - I use this at work and adore it*
Tint Need a social media display dashboard - the office, a convention,etc? THIS is the way - Facebook, Twitter - all in one place. (Note - It is a little pricey and the free version is obviously branded)
Todoist This is my favorite new tool for getting things done! Track all the things - from the app or the web. Get e-mailed in the morning a list of the day's to-dos. And that's just the free version! The paid version does even more...

Organization Hack Not all tools need an app - here's one for paper people!
Taco From what I see - this beats any task management tool for people using multiple apps/tools
